Vehicle Inspections Serving Midland, TX

As of March 1, 2016, motorists in Midland and the state of Texas no longer need a registration and inspection sticker. Moving forward, motorists will have one sticker to place in the corner of their windshield.

A passing vehicle inspection is a requirement to renew your registration. This results in more and more motorists in Texas complying with the safety and emissions laws. If your vehicle passes the safety inspection, TxDMV will automatically be notified to process your registration renewal. You will not receive an inspection sticker, but a Vehicle Inspection Report that will provide proof of the passing safety test. When you go to register your vehicle, you’ll receive a sticker which shows proof of both inspection and registration.

According to the Texas DMV, all vehicles must pass an annual vehicle inspection. If you are new to the state, you must have an inspection within 30 days of moving to Texas. Failure to obtain an inspection delays the annual vehicle registration process. To get a registration sticker, you must have documentation of a passed inspection. At Dyno Kwik Lube, we offer quality inspection services.

Safety Vehicle Inspection

The vehicle inspection is composed of two tests – a safety test and emissions test. Safety testing is completed to ensure the vehicle is safe to operate. It helps discover anything that would create failure on the roads. The safety and performance of a variety of parts are checked including:

  • Braking
  • Suspension
  • Steering
  • Tires
  • Mirrors
  • Seat Belts
  • Horn
  • And Much More

Once your vehicle passes the safety inspection, you will receive documentation that you will present when you go to register your vehicle. Texas uses one sticker as part of the ‘Two Step, One Sticker’ program.

Emissions Vehicle Inspection

The next test is the emissions test. This portion allows inspectors to look at certain parts of the vehicle to make sure they meet specific air quality concerns. Some of these parts include:

  • Air Injection System
  • Catalytic Converter
  • Gas Caps
  • And Much More
